This statement applies to the Check what National Insurance benefits you can claim service. It is run by the Government of Barbados.

How accessible this service is

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this service. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard. This means you should be able to:

  • navigate the whole service using a keyboard
  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser settings
  • zoom in up to 300% without text spilling off the screen
  • use the service with a screen reader, including completing the check

The text is written to be as simple as possible to understand.

If you need the information in a different format

If you cannot use the online check, you can get the same information and apply by phone or in person. Contact the National Insurance and Social Security Service (NISSS) for office locations and contact details.

Technical information about this service’s accessibility

This service is partially compliant with the WCAG 2.1 AA standard. The eligibility check needs JavaScript to run. If JavaScript is turned off, you can still read the full list of benefits and apply through the NISSS.
